CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College men's soccer team dropped their first match of the season to Nova Southeastern 3-1.
The Choctaws (0-1) actually got on the board first as junior
Tobias Betz (Munich, Germany) passed it off to junior
Kendall Carballo (Goicoechea, Sao Jose) who found the back of the net in the 24th minute of play.
The Sharks (1-0) came back eight minutes later as Stefano Fanfoni scored an unassisted goal to end the first half, 1-1.
Nova then scored two minutes into the second half as Matthias Bruno scored off an assist by Felippo Mancini. Juan Rodriguez recorded the third and final goal of the game in the 77th minute giving Nova the win 3-1.
The Choctaws had nine shots throughout the match to Nova Southeastern's 17 shots. This was great match for the Choctaws to help them prepare for their Gulf South Conference competition.
The Choctaws will be back in action on Sunday as they host Florida Tech at Longabaugh Field at 3:00 p.m.
