CLINTON, Miss. --- After picking up its first Gulf South Conference win of the season, the Mississippi College volleyball team returns to A.E. Wood Coliseum on Tuesday, Sept. 29 against the University of West Florida. Match time is slated for 6 p.m.
The Tuesday affair starts the first of a season-long homestand for MC, which will also see the University of North Alabama and the University of Alabama in Huntsville make visits to Coliseum this weekend.
The Lady Choctaws logged a 3-1 at West Georgia on Friday.
Jenna Campbell and
Shelby Grace Mays paced the Blue and Gold with eight kills each in the match.
Bailee Berringer and
Sydney Chandler combined for 32 assists in the four sets. Berringer led the duo with 20 assists while Chandler added 12.
Alex Hackett and Mays tied for the team-lead with nine digs each on the defensive end for the Lady Choctaws while
Kayana Mitchell recorded four blocks in the match, including a pair of solo blocks.
Campbell paces the squad in kills with 92 on the season. Mitchell ranks second with 77 kills while she leads the team in blocks with 34 on the campaign. Mays ranks third in kills with 75 and is second in digs with 135.
Berringer leads the team with 211 assists in her debut season while Chandler has 166, which has helped her move to ninth in program history in the category.
Pearson Bell has tallied a team-leading 160 digs while
Madison Kimes has recorded 132, which is third on the team.
The Blue and Gold seeks its first win over UWF on Tuesday. MC dropped both outings last season against the Argonauts, in the only two meetings in the series between the two squads.
