Choctaws Suffer Tough Loss to West Alabama 3-2

CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College men's soccer team suffered a tough loss against West Alabama 3-2, on Sunday afternoon at Longabaugh Field. 

West Alabama ( 3-4-1, 2-0 GSC) got on the board first as Alex Brown hit the back of the net in the 34th minute of play.

The Choctaws (0-7, 0-3 GSC) came right back in the 42nd minute as Conor Corboy (Aptos, Calif.) tallied his first goal of the season. Within a minute, Corboy had another unassisted goal giving the Choctaws the lead 2-1 as they entered the half. 

The Tigers then came back to tie the match in the 27th minute as Jean Meyniel put it in the back of the net. Nearing the end of the match, in the 84th minute, Alex Brown scored his second goal of the game, giving the Tigers the win 3-2. 

Sophomore Humberto Pelaez (Panama City, Panama) made nine saves throughout the game.

The Choctaws will be back in action on Thursday as they host Louisiana College at 3:30 p.m. at Longabaugh Field.
