Lady Choctaws and Harding Play to a Scoreless Draw

CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College women's soccer team remained unbeaten with a 0-0 draw against Harding University on Sunday afternoon at Longabaugh Field.

The Lady Choctaws (5-0-1) would outshoot the Lady Bisons (3-2-1) by a count of 19-9, but Harding goalkeeper Kaitlyn Miller made 10 saves to keep a clean sheet. Freshman goalkeeper Andrea McDonald made three saves for MC.

As the match went scoreless over 90 minutes, it was the Lady Choctaws that had the best chances in the overtime periods. Freshman Jess Davenport broke free behind the defense, but Miller came up big with a save in the first overtime.

Freshman Gaylynn Cooper also had an opportunity in the final seconds of the second overtime, getting behind the defense, but again Miller turned the shot aside.

The Lady Choctaws will continue their four-match homestand on Friday when they will host Alabama Huntsville at 2:00 p.m. MC is already 1-0 in Gulf South Conference play after a 4-1 win over Delta State on September 8th.
