CEDARVILLE, Ohio --- The Mississippi College men's track & field teams finished up a strong competition at the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Indoor National Championships, hosted by Cedarville University at the Doden Field House.
"This was a good meet for us," said head coach
Butch Ard. "We had a great first day on Friday, and this will give us a lot to build on as we head to the outdoor season."
The Choctaws got their first points of the meet on Friday with a 6th-place finish in the 4x200m Relay with a time of 1:32.60. The team of
Justin Thomas,
Shawn Robertson,
Darius Green and
Michael Cavonis picked up three points on the opening day.
On Saturday, freshman
Robert McMahon scored point in the 55m Hurdles, finishing 7th with a time of 8.28.
Thomas, a freshman from Clarksdale, Miss., had two point-scoring events, finish 2nd in the 55m Dash (6.40) and 8th in the 200m Dash (22.84).
The Choctaws will be back in action on Saturday, March 7th when they host the MC Season Opener at James E. Parkman Track at Robinson-Hale Stadium.
