MEMPHIS, Tenn. --- The Mississippi College baseball team dropped both games of a doubleheader on Saturday to Christian Brothers, falling the series after opening with a 3-2 win on Friday.
The Bucs (5-4, 2-1) used a 6-run sixth inning in the first game to pick up a 9-2 victory, while they exploded for 13 runs in the third inning of a 15-6 win over the Choctaws (6-2, 1-2 GSC) in the second game.
MC came into the game with their best start to a season since 2002, winning their first six games. They jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the second inning of the opener after

The Bucs scored single runs in the second and third innings and took the lead in the fifth inning on a bases loaded sacrifice fly by Charles Kelly.
The sixth inning saw CBU break the game open with six runs, highlighted by a three-run double from Cameron Coker, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and a run scored in the contest.
Junior
Taylor Olsen (1-1) took the loss on the mound for MC, allowing three earned runs with three strikeouts over 4.1 innings. Peyton McArthur went 7.0 innings to earn the victory for the Bucs.
In the second game, the Bucs put the game away early with 13 runs in the third inning to jump out to a 15-0 lead. Caleb Goodwin led the team with five RBI, while Coker scored a team-high three runs.
Freshman
Kyle Smith came off the bench to go 2-for-3 with three RBI, including a two-run double in the seventh inning. Juniors

Caleb Upton joined freshman
Grant Veteto with two hits apiece.
Junior
Kyle Cumlander took the loss for MC, allowing eight hits and seven earned runs over 2.1 innings. Freshman
Jake Fraze came in and pitched the final 3.2 innings for MC, giving up four earned runs and five hits.
Taylor Seaman came out of the bullpen to pick up the victory for CBU, allowing four hits and an earned run over 3.1 innings.
The Choctaws will be back in action next weekend when they travel to Jackson, Tenn. for a three-game series with Union University. They open the series Saturday with a doubleheader at 1:00 p.m.
