CLINTON, Miss. --- Despite winning the opening set, the Mississippi College volleyball team concluded the 2015 campaign with a 3-1, Gulf South Conference decision as Shorter University spoiled MC's Senior Day on Saturday afternoon.

Jamila Biglow and
Kayana Mitchell paced the Lady Choctaws offensively with nine kills each while
Madison Frazier added eight putaways. The duo also led the charge with a combined 10 blocks. Biglow logged six blocks while Mitchell garnered four.
Bailee Berringer distributed a team-best 19 assists with
Sydney Chandler added 14 in the four-set, match.
Alex Hackett recorded double-digit digs with 18 – her second highest total of the season.
A dominating performance in the first set for the Navy Gold as the squad recorded a .308 attack percentage while the defensive stifled SU to a sub-.100-clip. MC jumped out to an early 7-3 lead, but SU nibbled at the deficit clipping it to 10-9.
The Lady Choctaws responded with an 11-4 run to extend the lead to 21-13 and never looked back claiming the set 25-15.
After the Hawks knotted the contest at 1-all heading in to the intermission, the two squads battled through the third set with the Blue and White edging out a 25-23 decision after being tied at 18-all.
SU took an early 16-11 lead to open the final, but the Navy and Gold rallied to clip the lead to 23-21 on a kill from
Ashton King. However, the Hawks claimed the final two points to clinch the match with a 25-21 decision.
Tiffani Estep, Elizabeth Dowd and BreAnna Thompson led Shorter with nine kills while Cheyenne Frady gathered 23 assists. Cheyenne McLemore led the defensive charge with 15 digs.
Mississippi College's season concludes with a 3-28 record and 2-18 in GSC play.
