"I thought we were really competitive tonight," said head coach
Peter Cosmiano. "We really played well through the first three sets and could have won either of the first two and forced the contest into five (sets). Ashton (King) and Madison (Frazier) really provided great offense tonight and that's evident by their number of kills. All in all, we played well and stayed together as a team and that's something we've been pushing for all season."
The Navy and Gold fell behind early in the final frame, 18-8. MC's attempt at a rally fell short as the squad dropped the fourth set 25-18.
Silvia Sartori paced the Flames with 18 kills while Catherine Conley added 12 kills. Hillary Hoffpauir set up the offensive effort for LU with 42 assists on the night. Stephanie Hernandez and Sarah Davis recorded 16 and 15 digs respectively on the defensive side while Brooke Wilsman tallied four blocks.
