JACKSON, Tenn. --- The Mississippi College men's soccer team played Union University to a 2-2 draw on Friday night in a GSC road match.
The Choctaws (2-7-1, 0-3-1 GSC) got on the board first in the 9th minute when sophomore
Bastian Busch scored his second goal of the season on an assist from senior
Ewahia Amhanesi.
After the Bulldogs (4-6-1, 2-2-1 GSC) tied it up in the 25th minute, sophomore goalkeeper
Humberto Pelaez gave MC the lead in the 34th minute when he converted a penalty kick, marking a rare goal for a net-minder.
MC took the 2-1 lead into halftime, but Union scored the game-tying goal in the 57th minute when Diogo Dias knocked in a header from a free kick.
Pelaez played a strong match in the goal, making eight saves over the 110 minutes played. He faced 29 shots with 11 coming on goals.
The Choctaws will be back in action on Sunday when they will travel to Christian Brothers on Sunday to play at 3:00 p.m.Â
