Men's Soccer Falls to Christian Brothers 1-0

MEMPHIS, Tenn.  --- The Mississippi College men's soccer team fell to Christian Brothers 1-0 on Sunday afternoon at Signaigo Field in Memphis, Tenn.

The Choctaws (2-8-1, 0-4-1 GSC) and the Bucs (10-3, 3-3 GSC) remained scoreless in the first half as Christian Brothers put up six shots to the Choctaws four. The MC defense drew five offensides calls against Christian Brother's offense.

The Bucs got on the board in the 65th minute of play when Sean Rutter headed the ball into the goal off an assist from Samuel Wilson to post his first goal of the season.

MC put up five shots in the second half. Junior George Fradenburg (Tupelo, Miss.) got a shot off in the 84th minute but the Buc's defense made a team save keeping them in the lead. Sophomore Morgan Roberson (Brandon, Miss.) had a header in the 89th minute of play and was unable to convert a goal as Britton McGuire made the save. 

Sophomore Humberto Pelaez (Panama City, Panama) posted five saves while the Bucs goalie Britton McGuire recorded three saves in the match.

The Choctaws will be back in action on Friday at 3:00 p.m. at Longabaugh Field as they host Shorter University.
