CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College men's soccer team picked up a 4-0 win over LSU-Alexandria on Monday afternoon at Longabaugh Field.
The Choctaws (2-7, 0-3 GSC) remained scoreless until the 38th minute when senior
Ewahia Amhanesi (Mesquite, Texas) found the back of the net giving the Choctaws the lead 1-0 to enter the half. The Choctaws outshot LSU-Alexandria 9-5 in the first half.
Early in the second half, Amhanesi found junior
Kendall Carballo (San Jose, Costa Rica) in scoring position who then kicked it past the goalie for his fifth goal of the season. Senior
Jorge Delgado (Juarez, Mexico) then had back to back goals in the 80th and 79th minute. The first came off an assist from Carballo and the second was an unassisted tally giving Delgado four goals on the season.
The Choctaws outshot Union 25-9.
Humberto Pelaez (Panama City, Panama) had three saves in the match and recorded his second shutout victory on the season. LSU-Alexandria goalie Matheus Souza made nine saves on the game.
The Choctaws will be back in action on Friday as they travel to Jackson, Tenn. to face Union at 7:15 p.m.
