CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College volleyball team returns to Gulf South Conference action on Tuesday, Oct. 27 as it hosts the University of West Alabama. Match time is slated for 6 p.m.
MC (2-22, 1-12 GSC), which looks to avenge a 3-0 decision in Livingston, Ala., earlier this season, seeks to get off the snide and snap an 11-game skid in the midweek, conference outing.
Jenna Campbell leads a quartet of Lady Choctaws with 100-plus kills as the freshman has registered 146 on the season.
Kayana Mitchell has tallied 130 kills followed by
Shelby Grace Mays with 121.
Jamila Biglow joined the century kill club this weekend as she garnered her 100th.
Bailee Berringer has dished out a team-best 356 assists while
Sydney Chandler continues to chase the career assist mark. The sophomore has recorded 270 on the campaign and is tied for sixth in program history with 730.
Defensively, Mitchell leads the squad with 61 total blocks. The block total equals her mark from last season and places her ninth in school history in the category.
Madison Kimes leads the squad in digs with 200 on the season while Mays is 12 shy of joining of the 200-dig club with 188.
UWA, which is 7-17 and 5-9 in GSC play, enters the match riding a seven-game losing streak. The Tigers last win on the season came in Memphis, Tenn., in a 3-2 decision over Christian Brothers University on Oct. 10.
Briana Sandifer and Morgan Ray have paced UWA offensively with 200-plus kills each. Callie Murphy has setup the Tigers offensive effort with a team-best 562 assists. Kimberly Hernandez has totaled 220 digs to lead the Red and White on the defensive end while Jaime Lancellot has registered 68 total blocks.
Following the midweek contest, Mississippi College returns to action on Friday, Oct. 30, as it hosts the University of West Georgia. Match time is set for 6 p.m.
