CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College men's soccer team will take their last road trip of the season as they travel to Mobile, Ala. to face Spring Hill on Friday at 3:30 p.m. and then to Pensacola, Fla. to take on West Florida on Sunday at 12:30 p.m.
The Choctaws (3-9-1, 1-5-1 GSC) come off a split weekend as they picked up their first GSC win against Shorter on Friday, 3-1 and fell to Lee, 2-1 on Sunday.
Leading MC's attack is junior
Kendall Carballo (San Jose, Costa Rica) with five goals and four assists. Senior
Ewahia Amhanesi (Mesquite, Texas) has had two finishes with six assists while senior
Jorge Delgado (Juarez, Mexico) and junior
Conor Corboy (Aptos, Calif.) have recorded four goals apiece. The offense has put in 22 goals on the season.
The Choctaws' defense is led by senior
Josh Barrera (Houston, Texas),
Daniel Lang (Jackson, Miss.),
Perry Goldsbury (Derby, England), and sophomore
Elliot Rimmer (Clinton, Miss.). In goal for the Choctaws is sophomore
Humberto Pelaez (Panama City, Panama) who has posted a 1.46 goals against average, making 60 saves with two shutout victories.
The Choctaws defeated Spring Hill (2-10, 0-6 GSC) last season 2-0.
George Fradenburg got the scoring going early in the 4th minute off an assist by
Stephen Roberson. MC extended the lead in the 52nd minute when
Ewahia Amhanesi found the back of the net.
The Badgers offense has recorded eight goals on the season led by Andrew McInnis with three goals and one helper. Both Tilman Schober and Viktor Kvarnlof have recorded two goals apiece. Between the posts for the Badgers is Will Carpenter who has posted a 1.88 goals against average, making 66 saves with one shutout victory.
In the 2014 season, the Choctaws picked up a 1-0 win against West Georgia (8-4, 2-4 GSC). MC's goal came in the 29th minute when Rimmer sent a ball across the face of the goal and
Francisco DeAnda headed it into the back of the net.
The Argonauts' offense has put in 23 goals on the season led by Marteinn Urbancic with four goals and five helpers and Stephen Enderlin with five finishes and one assist. Time is split in goal between Andre Moreira and Jacob Murray. Moreira has spent 630 minutes between the posts making 27 saves, two shutout victories and posting a 1.29 goals against average. Murray has spent 480 minutes in goal with six saves, three shutout victories and a 0.75 goals against average.
