RUSTON, La. --- The Mississippi College women's basketball team opened their 2014-15 preseason schedule with an 85-36 loss to Louisiana Tech in an exhibition game on Saturday night in the Thomas Assembly Center.
The Lady Choctaws had three new starters on the floor and seven players saw their first action in the "Blue and Gold" against the Division I Lady Techsters. Junior
Ashley Minor, a transfer from Copiah-Lincoln Community College, led MC with 14 points, going 6-of-12 from the floor andn 2-of-3 from the three-point line. Senior
AnnMarie Harris, a transfer from Florida A&M, had six points to go along with a team-high six rebounds and three steals.
For Louisiana Tech, it was the first game for head coach Tyler Summit, the son of former Tennessee Lady Vols coach, Pat Summit. JaQuan Jackson came off the bench to lead all players with 19 points, while Chrisstasia Walter tallied a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds.
The Lady Choctaws will be back in action for their final exhibition game on Sunday, November 9th when they travel to Baton Rouge, La. to face LSU at 1:00 p.m.
