Clinton, Miss. --- The Mississippi College men's soccer team advances to the National Christian College Athletic Association championship match against Bluefield on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Robert P. Longabaugh Field.
The Choctaws (11-5-1) faced Campbellsville (13-6-1) at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at Robert P. Longabaugh Field. The Choctaws trailed Campbellsville three to one in the last seven minutes of the match. In the 84th minute of play the Choctaws fought back tallying two goals by senior
Francisco DeAnda and
Brian Vasquez to end the match with a tie (3-3). There were no scores in the double overtime periods, forcing both teams into penalty kicks.

Kase Kingery, and DeAnda each successfully completed their penalty kick. The Lions were only able to convert one, allowing the Choctaws to advance to the championship match.
Bluefield (12-7-1) faced Lee (Tenn.) (8-9-2) at 2:00 p.m. on Friday afternoon at Robert P. Longabaugh Field. It was a tight match until Benjy Slator found the back of the net in the 79th minute of play with an assist by Michael Callaghan. Bluefield came back with another goal in the last 10 seconds of the match to take the lead over Lee (Tenn.) 2-1.
The Choctaws and Bluefield will play for the NCCAA MidEast Region championship title on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Robert P. Longabaugh Field.
