CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College football team will hit the road for the second straight week when they head to Carrollton, Ga. to face the University of West Georgia. Kick-off is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. (ET) / 1:00 p.m. (CT) at University Stadium with the pre-game show on WHJT Star 93.5 FM beginning 30 minutes prior.
The Choctaws (1-6, 0-4 GSC) are coming of a 44-9 loss to Florida Tech last weekend in Melbourne, Fla. that saw them have their highest offensive output of the season with 323 total yards and a season-high 167 passing yards. Senior

Adrian Cerrato led the rushing attack for the second straight week with 10 carries for 64 yards. Sophomore

The Wolves (6-2, 2-2 GSC) opened the season with five straight wins before falling to Valdosta State on the road, 40-6. They followed the loss up with a 24-16 win over #9 Delta State and a tight 31-28 loss to #4 North Alabama in Florence. Senior quarterback Emmanuel Taylor led the offense with 170 rushing yards and three scores and 184 passing yards with a score. Reigining GSC Defensive Player of the Week Darrius Caldwell led the team with nine tackles and 2.5 sacks.
In their first season back in the Gulf South Conference, the young Choctaws have continued to improve as the season has progressed. MC has seen 22 freshmen play significant minutes, while seven have earned starts throughout the year. Philadelphia, Miss. native
Matthew Turcotte is averaging 44.3 yards per punt this season on 23 kicks, which would rank as the best single-season mark in school history.

Kaleb Coleman has stepped in for senior
Jake Weddle at the middle linebacker position and tallied a career-high 10 tackles with 2.0 tackles for loss last week against Florida Tech. Cornerback

Chris Manning have been pushed into action in their rookie seasons, combining for 54 tackles, three pass break-ups and an interception.
The Choctaws have done a good job of not hurting themselves with penalties this season, only averaging 2.6 penalties for 19.7 yards per game. Over the past two contests, MC has been called for just one infraction for 15 yards.

Kyle Smith has earned the starting nod over the past five games and leads the team with five rushing touchdowns. Senior signal-caller
Jonathon Redd played the entire second half against Florida Tech and threw for a season-high 103 yards.

Dylan Klibert leads a Choctaw defense that has had to replace five opening-day starters due to injury this season. The LaPlace, La. native tallied 12 tackles last week against Florida Tech and was named the NCCAA Defensive Student-Athlete of the Week after tallying two interceptions and a fumble recovery, including two defensive scores, in the 56-14 victory over University of Faith.
The Wolves have been stingy on defense this season, allowing just 331 yards per game, including 131.5 rushing yards and just four rushing touchdowns. Laronji Vason leads the team with 52 tackles, while Alex Armah has a team-high 11.5 tackles for loss and Caldwell paces the squad with 6.5 sacks.
Seth Hinsley is the team's leading rusher with 78 yards on the ground per game with four rushing touchdowns. Shaq Hall leads the team with 22 catches for 402 yards and two scores. Dallas Dickey has taken a majority of the snaps under center this season, completing 59% of his passes for 822 yards and nine touchdowns.
This will be the 13th all-time meeting between the Choctaws and the Wolves with MC holding an 8-4 edge. MC won eight of the first nine meetings, dating back to 1984, while UWG has won the last three contests with the most recent coming in 1995.
