CLEVELAND, Tenn. --- The Mississippi College women's soccer team dropped their second straight 1-0 match with a defeat to Lee University on Sunday afternoon.
The Lady Choctaws (8-6-1, 3-5-1 GSC) saw their defense be tested for most of the match as the Flames (8-4-1, 7-1 GSC) tallied 14 shots with eight coming on goal. Sophomore goalkeeper
Melanie Hummert earned her first career start and made seven saves to keep her team in the match.
After a scoreless first half, Lee was able to get on the board in the 49th minute when Kinsey Cichowitz found the back of the net for the only goal of the match. The Lady Choctaws would pose a threat in the final minutes of the match but they could not break through in the shutout loss.
The Lady Choctaws will be back in action on Friday when they host Spring Hill at 1:00 p.m. at Longabaugh Field.
