ROME, Ga. --- The Mississippi College women's soccer team dropped their second straight match with a 1-0 loss to Shorter University on Friday night.
The Lady Choctaws (8-5-1, 3-4-1 GSC) allowed a penalty kick in the 8th minute and the Hawks (9-4, 4-3 GSC) converted for the only score of the game as Fiorella Gamarra put the ball in the back of the net. MC would have a chance to tie in the 59th minute with a penalty kick of their own, but the shot was missed and Shorter held on for the shutout victory.

Robin Cooper made five saves in net for the Lady Choctaws, while Haley Lademann made three to pick up the victory for the Hawks.
The Lady Choctaws will be back in action on Sunday when they travel to Cleveland, Tenn. to face Lee University at 12:00 p.m. (CT).
