Christian Brothers Hands Lady Choctaws First Home Loss 3-1

Clinton, Miss. --- The Mississippi College women's soccer were handed their first home loss by Christian Brother, 3-1, on Sunday afternoon at Longabaugh Field.

The Lady Choctaws (8-4-1, 3-3-1 GSC) fought hard to earn a victory over Christian Brothers but fell two goals short against their GSC opponent. It was a competitive match as the Lady Choctaws tallied 17 shots to the Lady Buc's 12 shots.

Christian Brothers (10-2, 6-2 GSC) got on the board early as Camilla Rodrigues chipped it up to Lauren Browning who headed the ball into the net during the third minute of play. The Lady Bucs extended their lead in the 37th minute of play as Alex Bickenbach found the back of the net to tally her fourth goal of the season. The Lady Choctaws entered the half behind by two goals.

The Lady Choctaws closed the gap in the 52nd minute of play as sophomore Meghan Mauzy (Titusville, Fla.) got a shot off from a scramble in front of the net to score her first goal of the season.

In the 71st minute Camilla Rodrigues had an unassisted goal to give Christian Brothers the win over the Lady Choctaws 3-1.

The Lady Choctaws will travel to Rome, Ga. for their next GSC match against Shorter on Friday, October 17th at 4:00 p.m.
