Junior wide receiver Jake Allen has been named Mississippi College's Male Athlete of the Week for the week of September 30th.  Jake was honored for his efforts in the Choctaws' loss to #5 Hardin-Simmons on Saturday.

Jake Allen, a Shubuta, MS native, came away with 8 receptions for 142 yards and a touchdown.  The Choctaws lost to nationally ranked Hardin-Simmons 48-28 on Saturday.  Allen, a transfer from Southwest Community College, is the leading receiver for the Choctaws this season.

Allen has recorded 22 receptions on the season for 478 yards and 5 touchdowns.  He is averaging 119 yds/gm for the Choctaws.  Allen hauled in a 95 yard touchdown reception in the 36-26 win over McMurry earlier this season.

Allen will be in action again this weekend as the Choctaws play host to the Louisiana College Wildcats on Saturday at 6:00 PM at Robinson-Hale Stadium.
