The Mississippi College basketball team closed out their season on Thursday with a 71-66 win over rival Delta State University at A.E. Wood Coliseum.

Senior Jonathan McGee (Raymond, Miss.) went out with a bang, tying a season-high with 29 points. McGee made eight three-pointers and went 10-of-18 from the floor with four rebounds and three assists. 

McGee led the team this season with 305 total points averaging 13.9 points per game with 55 rebounds and 41 assists.

The MC athletic department is anticipating final approval for Division II status this summer, which means the Choctaws will be able to compete for the Gulf South Conference championship in 2016-17.
