The Mississippi College Choctaws faced Alabama-Huntsville on Friday. With only four minutes left in the game, junior Josh Barrera (Houston, Texas) scored his first goal of the season on a header off a corner kick from senior Francisco De Anda to tie the match and force the game into overtime play. The Chargers were given a penalty kick one minute into the extra time due to a yellow card received by freshman goalkeeper Humberto Pelaez. The match ended with a 1-0 loss to the Chargers. 

On Sunday the Choctaws recorded their first-ever Gulf South Conference win against West Alabama 4-3. In the 75th minute of play, Barrera tallied his second goal of the season with an assist by senior Brian Vazquez to give the Choctaws a victory. 

The Choctaws will be back in action on Friday, October 10th to face Union (Tenn.) at 3:00 p.m. on Longabaugh Field.
