Freshman Marina Rizk has been named Mississippi College Renasant Bank Female Athlete of the Week, it was announced on Monday (May 6).

Rizk (Nasr City, Cairo, Egypt) was the gold medalist in the Pole Vault at the Gulf South Conference Championships, setting a new championships record with a vault of 3.50m, besting the previous mark of 3.45m by Bobbi LaBrant in 2016.

Rizk and the Lady Choctaws racked up 83.5 points to finish 4th in the team standings behind Lee, UAH and West Georgia.
