Senior Cori Cooper has been named the Mississippi College Renasant Bank Female Athlete of the Week, it was announced on Monday (Mar. 11).
Cooper (Magnolia, Texas) tossed all 10.0 innings of a 2-1 win over #5 Valdosta State on Sunday afternoon, striking out 10 with four walks. She allowed just three hits and an unearned run, holding VSU to just 1-of-14 with runners on base.
On the season, Cooper 4-4 with a 1.41 ERA, leading the team with 55 strikeouts in 44.2 innings pitched. The 10 strikeouts was a season-high after striking out nine against West Georgia on February 24th.
Cooper and the Lady Choctaws are scheduled to hit the road this weekend for a three-game series with Lee University in Cleveland, TN, opening Friday with aa single game at 4:00 p.m.
