Sophomore Brandon Broussard has been named the Mississippi College Wright & Ferguson Male Athlete of the Week, it was announced on Monday (April 16).
Broussard (Loxley, Ala.) went 3-for-6 in a rain-shortened two-game series sweep of UAH, completing a comeback in the finale with a solo home run in the 6-5 victory. He drove in a pair of runs and scored three times over the two contests.
On the season, Broussard is hitting .281 with three doubles, two home runs, a triple and 24 RBI. He leads the team with 26 base on balls while starting all 36 games behind the plate for the Choctaws.
Broussard and the Choctaws will be back in action on Tuesday night when they host Arkansas-Monticello at 6:00 p.m. MC's final home games of the season will be this weekend when they host West Alabama at Dickins-Scoper Stadium.
