Freshman Rakeem Wilson has been named the Mississippi College Wright & Ferguson Male Athlete of the Week, it was announced on Monday (April 9).
Wilson (Hamilton, Ala.) picked up three event victories at Rhodes 7-Way in Memphis, winning the 100m Dash with a time of 10.98. He followed that up with wins in the 4x100m Relay (43.25) with teammates Matthew Gibson, Luke Hodnett and Dalton Dempsey and the 4x400m Relay (3:24.09) with the same team.
Wilson and the Choctaws won the team title at the Rhodes 7-Way with 151 points, defeating the host school Rhodes by 19 points.
The Choctaws will be back in action this weekend in Hammond, La. for the Southeastern Strawberry Relays, hosted by Southeastern Louisiana University.
