Senior Greg Nickles has been named the Wright & Ferguson Athletes of the Week, it was announced on Monday (Nov. 6).

Nickles nailed the walk-off 25-yard field goal in a 30-29 win over Shorter University on "Senior Day" on Saturday. For the game, the Co-Lin transfer went 3-for-3 with a long of 36 yards, also connecting on all three extra points.

On the season, Nickles is 8-of-12 with a long of 56 yards and has made 11-of-12 extra points. He is the team's leader with 35 points, making all six field goals less than 30 yards.

Nickles and the Choctaws will close out the 2017 season on Saturday when they travel to North Alabama for the season finale at 1:30 p.m.
