Senior Chris Manning has been named the Wright & Ferguson Athlete of the Week, it was announced on Monday (October 23).

Manning picked off two passes and recorded four tackles in a 28-0 weather-shortened loss to #24 West Georgia on Saturday afternoon for MC's "Homecoming".

He led a defense that forced two turnovers and three punts, including blocking one on UWG's first five drives. He also intercepted a pass in the second half that gave him nine for his four-year career.

On the season, Manning leads the Choctaws with 40 tackles and three interceptions, ranking third in the conference in picks.

Manning and the Choctaws have a bye week before hosting Shorter for "Senior Day" on Saturday, Novebmer 4th.
