CEDARVILLE, Ohio --- The Mississippi College men's and women's track & field teams will compete in the 2015 National Christian College Athletic Association Indoor National Championships, hosted by Cedarville University at the Doden Field House. Events begin on Friday (Feb. 20) afternoon and go through Saturday (Feb. 21) afternoon.

"I'm excited to see how we do on a national stage," said head coach Butch Ard. "We have had a good indoor season, and it will be fun to see how that translates at the national championships. We have a good shot to bring home some hardware."

Senior Jessica Hodges, sophomores Deidre Forbes and Tierra Williams and freshmen Alex Buchanan, Anna Grace Govero and Kiana Grant are competing for the women's team. Sophomores Darius Green and Shawn Robertson and freshmen Michael Cavonis, Terry Lewis, Robert McMahon and Justin Thomas are going for the men's team.

On the women's side, Grant currenlty ranks in the top 15 nationally in the Triple Jump (2nd - 11.04m), Long Jump (9th - 5.28m) and 400m Dash (15th - 1:00.65). Govero ranks in the top 4 nationally in the High Jump (2nd - 1.62m) and 60m Hurdles (9.23). Hodges pole vault of 3.25m ranks 9th nationally coming into the meet.

On the men's side, Thomas has the bsst 60m Dash time in the nation at 6.77, while his time of 22.55 in the 200m Dash ranks 8th. McMahon's time of 8.88 in the 60m Hurdles is the 11th fastest time, while Cavonis' time of 52.03 in the 400m is 24th. The 4x200m Relay team also ranks 5th in the country with a time of 1:32.61.
