Dr. Reid Vance serves as the play-by-play announcer for the Mississippi College Athletic Department, taking control of all broadcast responsibilities with the MC Athletic Department. He helps to produce video broadcasts for all Choctaw home games.

"The Voice of the Choctaws" was voted the 2012 winner of the American Southwest Conference Outstanding Media Service Award for his coverage of Mississippi College athletics, the ASC and NCAA Division III. He was presented with his award, the eighth handed out in the history of the ASC, by MC Athletics Director Mike Jones at halftime of MC's men’s basketball game against LeTourneau University on Thursday, Jan. 31.

As an assistant professor and Chair of Communications, he teaches courses in mass media, journalism, sports media, and political communication. He has prior experience in college student affairs, campus ministry, church leadership, and Christian camp ministry. A native of Canton, Miss., he and his wife, Cheli, live in Clinton where they are leaders in the college ministry at First Baptist Church.

Vance is an Associate Professor of Communication. He holds the B.S. and M.S. in Communication from Mississippi College, the M.A. in Christian Education from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, and the Ph.D. in Higher Education from Azusa Pacific University.
