Blake Weir is in his fifth year as the Assistant Athletic Director for Athletic Communications at Mississippi College. In this role, he oversees media relations for 17 varsity sports and serves as the primary media contact for men's basketball, men's and women's track and field/cross country, men's and women's tennis, men's and women's soccer, and softball. He also supervises a team of student interns and assists with marketing and in-game efforts for softball, soccer, and basketball.

Weir has helped improve game presentation and communication tools at Mississippi College by incorporating technologies such as the ProPresenter scoreboard system for A.E. Wood Coliseum and a streamlined graphics package through BoxOut Sports. His focus remains on enhancing the overall experience for fans, student-athletes, and media partners.

Prior to joining Mississippi College, Weir served as the Assistant Director for Sports Media at Jackson State University from 2019 to 2021. During his time there, he supported the athletics department during the high-profile arrival of Coach Deion Sanders and helped facilitate media coverage and content during a period of unprecedented national attention. He also contributed to promotional efforts for notable student-athletes such as Thomas “Snacks” Lee and Ameshya Williams, helping secure an ESPY nomination and national coverage across outlets like ESPN, TMZ Sports, and Barstool’s Pardon My Take.

Weir began his career as a Marketing Intern with Mississippi State Athletics in 2016, followed by a Graduate Assistant position at Belhaven University in 2017, where he was involved in communications, content creation, and graphic design.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology (Sport Management) from Mississippi State University and a Master’s in Sports Administration from Belhaven University.

Outside of athletics, Weir serves as a Deacon at First Baptist Church Madison and lives in Madison with his wife, Courtney, their son Beckham, and their cat, Cooper. A former student-athlete himself, Weir earned a football scholarship to Holmes Community College in 2012 and is a 2012 graduate of Jackson Academy, where he participated in football, baseball, and track.
