Carl Sheard enters his 12th season as an assistant coach for the Mississippi College men's soccer program.

Over his first 11 seasons, the Choctaws have compiled a record of 116-53-27 (.661). The Choctaws won the American Southwest Conference championship in 2012 and advanced to the Second Round of the Division III Tournament. MC then won the 2016 and 2019 Gulf South Conference regular season championships and played for the GSC Tournament championship in 2017.

Before moving to Mississippi College, Sheard played for Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University from 2004-07. As a player, Sheard was a three-time All-Conference selection and was recognized as an Honorable Mention All-American in 2007, after helping the Eagles to the Elite 8 of the NAIA National Tournament. In his four seasons, the Eagles played in four NAIA National Tournaments and won four conference titles.

Sheard received his Bachelor's degree from Embry-Riddle in Business Administration in 2008, and also earned a Master's Degree in Corporate Communication and Public Relations at Mississippi College in 2011.

Before coming to the United States, Sheard played at the highest level of youth soccer in England, the F.A. Youth Premier League, with the Derby County Football Club in 2002-04.

Sheard currently holds a NSCAA Advanced National Diploma along with a USSF National "C' License.
