Coach Black enters his third season for the Choctaws football program as assistant coach, overseeing running backs and serving as the programs recruiting coordinator.
A product of Mississippi College, Coach Black distinguished himself on the gridiron as a talented Defensive Back from 2015 to 2018. His playing experience laid the foundation for his deep understanding of defensive strategies and player dynamics.
Transitioning seamlessly from player to coach, Coach Black began his coaching journey at MRA, where he honed his skills coaching defensive backs. His passion for mentoring young athletes propelled him to further coaching opportunities, including a stint as a Graduate Assistant at his alma mater, Mississippi College.
Coach Black's journey then took him to Southwest Minnesota State, where he expanded his coaching by working with both running backs and defensive backs. This diverse experience equipped him with an understanding of offensive and defensive strategies.
Returning to Mississippi College, Coach Black assumed roles with running backs, special teams, and recruiting. His multifaceted approach to coaching not only strengthened the team's performance on the field but also contributed significantly to talent acquisition and player development.
With a keen eye for talent and a deep connection to the regions of Southwest Mississippi and South Louisiana, Coach Black plays a pivotal role in recruiting efforts for Mississippi College, ensuring a steady influx of skilled players to the program.
