CLINTON, Miss. — Mississippi College (10-7-1, 3-1) secured a decisive 5-0 victory over Union University (5-10, 2-2) on Friday night at MC Softball Complex. The Choctaws showcased strong offensive play, highlighted by two home runs and eight total hits, while holding Union scoreless with a five-hit shutout.

Hadley Lemons walked and eventually reached third, setting up
Blakely Gill for a sacrifice fly RBI. Shortly after,
Shelby Samples hit a home run to extend the lead. The score increased to 3-0.
The sixth inning saw further action from the Choctaws. Lem doubled to center field, and
Kallee Nichols, pinch running, advanced to third on a steal and scored on a wild pitch.
Madelyn England then hit a home run, adding another run to the tally. The score reached 5-0 after six innings.
MC maintained the shutout through the seventh inning, securing the final score of 5-0.
Cam Bailey delivered a standout performance, pitching a complete game shutout over 7 innings for the Choctaws. He allowed just 5 hits while striking out 2 batters and issuing no walks. Bailey faced 26 batters and maintained a WHIP of 0.71, using 68 pitches with 39 strikes. This marked his seventh win of the season, improving his record to 7-3.
