Choctaws and Buccaneers Battle to High-Scoring Tie

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Mississippi College and Christian Brothers University battled to a 4-4 draw on Friday at Signaigo Field. Both teams scored three goals in a tense second half, with Mississippi College converting a penalty kick and Christian Brothers University equalizing late to secure the tie. Mississippi College totaled 15 shots with seven on target, while Christian Brothers University recorded 18 shots, 13 of which were on goal.

Mississippi College and Christian Brothers University began the match with both teams displaying aggressive play. Mississippi College took an early lead in the 20th minute when Russell Berko scored with an assist from Sergio Garrido. Christian Brothers University leveled the match in the 30th minute, as Joe Vokins found the back of the net, assisted by Juan Minguez Malonda. The half concluded with a 1-1 tie.

Christian Brothers University took an early lead in the second half with a goal from Will Allen in the 46th minute. Mississippi College responded quickly, leveling the score in the 49th minute through Lewis Matton. The home team regained the advantage in the 67th minute with a goal by Minguez Malonda, assisted by Vokins.
