ALBERTVILLE, Ala.  — #24 Mississippi College continued to showcase an impressive performance to the start of their 2024 season, defeating Trevecca Nazerene with a commanding 9-1 victory during the opening day of the Charger Chillout in Albertville, Ala. before winning game two 7-1 over Carson-Newman. 

In game one, MC collected 11 hits as a unit with Jordan LaFosse, Shelby Samples, and McCall Lee pacing the way with two hits each. 

Samples and LaFosse (2) each collected a home run in the game with both having two runs batted in and two runs scored.

Brookelyn Cannon went 4.0 innings in the circle with two hits allowed, one run scored, and two strikeouts.

In game two, Samples added two more hits on the evening while Jordan Moore had two hits, and Kam Eaton finishing with a team best three RBI's. McCall Lee had two runs scored.

MC had nine collected hits as a unit in the 7-1 win over Carson-Newman.

Camryn Bailey (4-0) delivered a stellar performance in the circle, holding Carson-Newman to just one run over five innings while striking out an impressive nine batters.

With this win, Mississippi College improves to a 6-0 record for the season. They face Miles College and Georgia Southwestern on Friday afternoon on day two of the Charger Chillout with first pitcher versus Miles at 1 p.m.
