CLINTON, Miss --- The Gulf South Conference unveiled its 2023 preseason All-Conference team Thursday with Mississippi College's standout running back,
Marcus Williams, earning a coveted spot as a 1st team All-GSC running back and return specialist.
Coming off a remarkable 2022 sophomore season, Williams showcased himself with an impressive 937 yards rushing on just 101 attempts, boasting an average of 9.0 yards per carry.
Alongside his 10 rushing touchdowns, Williams hauled in 6 catches for 93 yards and a touchdown. On special teams, he racked up 722 yards on 30 kick returns, averaging 24.07 yards per attempt. Williams' exceptional performance last season also landed him on the Conerly Trophy List at the end of the season as a semifinalist for Mississippi's top football player awar.
Williams and the Choctaws kickoff the season on August 31 at Keiser beginning at 5 p.m. in West Palm Beach, Fla.
