OXFORD, Ala. --- In a matchup of Top 25 teams between #14 Mississippi College (41-9) and #20 West Alabama (40-11), it was the Lady Tigers who emerged victorious with a 4-2 win at Choccolocco Park in Oxford, Ala.
West Alabama took an early lead with two runs in the first inning, one of which came on a wild pitch. They later added another run in the third inning on a sacrifice fly and a solo home run in the fifth inning to make it 4-0.
The Lady Choctaws mounted a late comeback with a run in the sixth inning on an RBI single by
Jordan Moore and a run in the seventh inning on an RBI single by Brook Fagan, but it was not enough to overcome West Alabama's lead as MC fell 4-2 in game two of the GSC Tournament.
Madison Wright picked up the win for West Alabama, while
Camryn Bailey took the loss for Mississippi College.
MC returns to action on Friday morning at 10 a.m. where they will take on Valdosta State at Choccolocco Park in Oxford, Ala.
