BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — The 2023 Gulf South Conference Softball Championship field is set, and Choccolocco Park in Oxford, Ala., will once again play host from May 3-6.

Alabama Huntsville will be the No. 1-seed after claiming the GSC regular season title with a 25-4 record. The Chargers finished with a 40-9 overall and are among the top five in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division II rankings. This will be UAH's 24th GSC tournament appearance, after playing in the last season's title game.
After missing the tournament last season, Mississippi College (40-8, 24-6) will be the No. 2-see taking on Union in the first round of the Tournament. The two teams will face off at 12:30 p.m. CT at Choccolocco Park in Oxford, Ala. on Wednesday, May 3. West Alabama (38-11, 23-7) meanwhile will be the No. 3-seed, while defending tournament champions Auburn Montgomery (33-15, 22-7) will be the No. 4-seed.
Valdosta State (33-14, 19-11) will be the No. 5-seed. Montevallo (19-22, 13-14) and Union (24-24, 13-15) are sixth and seventh-seeded teams, respectively, while West Florida (22-21, 13-16)will enter as the No. 8-seed.
All 15 games of the GSC Softball Championship will be streamed live on FloSports.
