CLINTON, Miss. --- Mississippi College softball continues to rack up wins, winning their 10th game in a row on Saturday with a pair of wins over West Alabama, 13-10 in game one and 5-2 in game two.

In what was regarded as the must see series of the weekend in the GSC, featuring the top of the conference West Alabama Lady Tigers, and the surging Lady Choctaws, it was MC that came into the weekend and earned the complete three-game sweep.

In a thrilling game two of the series, on Saturday, UWA jumped out to an early 8-3 lead in the second inning. Yet, the Lady Choctaws fought back, picking up four runs in the third inning on a two RBI double by Jordan LaFosse and a two RBI single by Shelby Samples that cut the UWA lead to 8-7.

Trailing 9-7 in the fifth, a Jenna Ergle solo home run trimmed the UWA lead to one, before five more runs crossed the plate in the inning on a Jaycee Dill single, an Alexis Laughlin single, and a Brooke Fagan three-run home run. MC led 13-9 at the end of the fifth. After giving up just one in the seventh, MC went on to win by a final of 13-10, taking the series win in the first two games of the weekend.

Avery Barnett went 4.1 innings pitched in the game as Camryn Bailey came in to record to final out of the game, picking up her second save of the season. Ashley Delany (2-0) picked up the win, her second of the season, going 2.1 innings in relief with two strikeouts. 

In game three of the series, MC jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead in the first inning on a Brooke Fagan solo home run, and a Jennna Ergle RBI single to rightfield that scored McCall Lee. 

UWA got one run back in the second inning, yet McCall Lee erased the UWA deficit of one run with a two run home run to centerfield in the third inning, giving MC the 4-1 lead. 

MC made it a 5-2 game in the fifth inning on a Jordan LaFosse sacrifice fly to right field that scored Brooke Fagan. Camryn Bailey went the rest of the way in the circle, shutting down the Lady Tigers, going 7.0 innings pitched, picking up her 12th win of the season, as the freshman moved to 12-1 overall. 

MC continues to make noise, winning their 10th game in a row, improving to 19-4 overall and 7-2 in GSC play. It was the second straight GSC sweep at home for MC, improving to 6-0 at home.

The Lady Choctaws return to action on Saturday, March 18, for doubleheader action on the road versus West Florida. Both team will compete in a three game GSC series in Pensacola, Fla. with game one on Saturday set for 1 p.m.
