CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College women's tennis program started off 6-0 on the season but fell for the first time on Monday as McNeese won a tight match 4-3.
MC started off with a 1-0 lead in doubles, as
Ely Alas and
Fernanda Cota took the win at #1 doubles with a 6-3Â set win, while
Emma Roberts and Gabrielle Goelier won at #2 doubles, 6-3.
In singles play, Gabrielle Goelier knocked off Ballo, 6-2, 7-6 (3) at #4 singles play.
Anna Valiaeva defeated Monlleo 6-3, 6-3 at #5 singles, with McNeese defeating MC on the other courts.
McNeese took the match 4-3, as MC fell for the first time on the season. With the loss, MC falls to 6-1 overall on the season. They return to the court o Wednesday at 1 p.m. at home versus Alcorn State. The two teams will face off beginning at the MC Tennis Complex in Clinton, Miss.Â
