CLINTON, Miss. -- Mississippi College catcher,
McCall Lee, has been named the Gulf South Conference Player of the Week, following her outstanding performance this past weekend on the diamond at the Charger Chillout in Huntsville, Ala.
For the weekend, Lee tallied 10 hits in 19 bats, including three consecutive games with three hits. Lee also had four doubles, one triple, one home run, and 10 runs batted in, including a weekend best five runs batted in, in a 14-4 win over Southern Indiana.
Lee helped knock off #13 Lincoln Memorial, 14-10, in 10 innings on the final day at the Charger Chillout, going 3-for-4 at the plate with two runs scored, 10 runs batted in, and one double.
On the season, Lee holds a team best .469 batting average through nine games played. She also leads the team with 14 runs scored, 15 hits, and five doubles, while also tied for a team high 13 runs batted in.
The Brandon, Miss. native has one home run on the season along with one triple and a .781 slugging percentage.
Lee and the Choctaws return to the field this weekend to begin GSC play on the road at West Alabama with a doubleheader set for 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. on Saturday and a single game at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
Mississippi College is a private Christian university located in Clinton, Mississippi with an enrollment of over 5,000 students. MC recently finished their transition process back to NCAA Division II and the Gulf South Conference and began competing for conference and national championships in the 2016-17 academic year.
