CLINTON, Miss.--- The 6-seed Mississippi College men's soccer team will take on 7-seed Christian Brothers in the semifinals of the Gulf South Conference tournament on Thursday night (Nov. 3rd) at 6:00 p.m. in Huntsville, Ala. The match will take place at John Hunt Park. The winner of Thursday's semifinal will move on to the GSC championship on Saturday (Nov. 5th) at 12:00 pm to take on the winner of the other semifinal (1-seed West Florida vs. 5-seed Auburn-Montgomery).

MC reached the semifinals by knocking off 3-seed West Alabama 3-0 in the quarterfinals behind goals from Felix Ewald, Jakob Gaarde, and Guilherme Santos. 

Christian Brothers also reached the semifinals by pulling an upset in the quarterfinals, as they took down 2-seed Lee 2-1.

Once again, MC is led by GSC Defensive Player of the Year Joshua Davies and GSC Freshman of the Year Felix Ewald. Noah Wagner (who is tied for the GSC lead with 10 goals) joined Davies on the 1st team all-GSC list. 

CBU is led by 2nd team All-GSC forward Lucho Galizzi (7 goals, 2 assists on the season) and one of the best goalkeepers in the conference in Max Klink (also a 2nd team All-GSC selection).

The previous meeting this season between the two squads resulted in a 1-1 draw, even though MC led for over 80 minutes. Santos scored in the 3rd minute to put the Choctaws ahead, but then CBU equalized in the 87th minute on a goal from Eduardo Bengoa.
