CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College softball team will enter the Gulf South Conference Tournament as the #6 seed and will open play on Thursday (May 6) at Choccolocco Park in Oxford, Ala.
The Lady Choctaws (18-19, 14-14 GSC) will face #18 UAH (30-10, 23-7 GSC), who comes in as the #3 seed, fresh of a three-game sweep of #2 Valdosta State last weekend in Huntsville. First pitch on Thursday is scheduled for 10:00 a.m.
MC swept a three-game series at home from UAH earlier this season, including picking up a 1-0 victory in nine innings in the finale as
Avery Sanders allowed just four hits to the high-powered Chargers.
Every game of the tournament will feature Live Video, provided by FloSports, and Live Stats. All links and a full schedule can be found on the
TOURNAMENT HOMEPAGE.
The top four teams in the league are currently ranked in the NFCA Top 25 with the Blazers (32-6, 25-5 GSC) coming in at #2 prior to their series at UAH. Auburn Montgomery (35-5, 25-5 GSC) checked in at #11, while UAH was #18 and West Florida (30-12, 22-7 GSC) was #22.
The winner of the week's tournament earns an automatic bid into the NCAA Division II South Regional with the top four teams likely already having a berth locked up.
