CLINTON, Miss. ---
Paige Hulin singled home
Gracie Trahan in the 9th inning of the second game of a doubleheader sweep of West Georgia on Saturday afternoon at the MC Softball Complex.
The Lady Choctaws (18-19, 14-14 GSC) opened the day with a 10-4 win before getting the extra-inning victory over the Wolves (23-14, 17-11 GSC) by a score of 2-1 in the nightcap.

GAME ONE: MISSISSIPPI COLLEGE 10, WEST GEORGIA 4
HOW IT HAPPENED
 - The Wolves got off to the hot start in the opener, scoring a pair of runs on a bases loaded walk and an RBI single from Cassie Henderson to make the score 2-0 in the first inning.
 - The score would remain 2-0 until the Lady Choctaws broke through with eight runs on six hits in the third inning.
 - The first three runs scored on back-to-back-to-back bases loaded walks and when
Jordan LaFosse scored, MC had a 3-2 advantage.
 - The big blow of the inning came when
Gracie Trahan singled home a pair of runs and the bases eventually cleared on a throwing error by UWG, making the score 6-2.
 - Hulin and
McCall Lee each had RBI singles in the frame to give MC the 8-2 lead after three frames.
 - The Wolves would get back into the game, scoring single runs in the 5th and 6th innings to cut the deficit to 8-4.
 - MC put the game away with two runs in the 6th, however, with the first coming on an RBI double from pinch-hitter
Mackenzie Collins.
 - Hulin singled home
Annemarie Peavy to give the game its final score of 10-4.
KEY STATS
 -
Avery Barnett (8-5) came out of the bullpen and got the final 20 outs to give the Lady Choctaws the victory in the circle.
 - The sophomore pitched around nine hits and struck out four.
 -
Rayne Minor and Hulin paced the MC offense with three hits apiece, while Hulin and Trahan each drove in a pair.
 - MC was patient at the plate, drawing eight walks, led by three from
Morgan Bradford and two from Trahan.
 - Hannah Scarbrough had a team-high three hits for the Wolves, while Alley Taylor scored twice.
 - Kya Draper (8-4) took the loss in the circle, allowing three hits and four earned runs over 2.2 innings.

GAME TWO: MISSISSIPPI COLLEGE 2, WEST GEORGIA 1 (9 INNINGS)
HOW IT HAPPENED
 - The Lady Choctaws took advantage of a UWG error in the first inning and Minor came home to score on a wild pitch to give MC the 1-0 lead.
 - The Wolves answered back in the 3rd inning and Madison Slappey scored an unearned run on a sacrifice fly by Ashley Ellison.
 - Both teams had opportunities to score over the next five innings, but the game remain tied at 1-1 going to the 9th.
 - Trahan drew a two-out walk and advanced to second on a wild pitch to set up Hulin's walk-off single.
 - The senior, who was recognized with Bradford prior to the doubleheader, hit a line drive to center field and Trahan motored home for the game-winning run.
KEY STATS
 - In a game that saw only 11 total hits, Lee led the way with three for the Lady Choctaws.
 - Barnett (9-5) again came out of the bullpen and tossed 5.0 innings, giving up just three hits and no runs.
 -
Shelby Carlson got the start in the circle, giving up just two hits and one unearned run over 3.0 frames.
 - Morgan Goree (7-7) took the tough-luck loss for UWG, recording 12 strikeouts over 8.2 innings on 155 pitches.
