MOBILE, Ala. --- The Mississippi College softball team scored eight runs in the final two innings of a 9-1 victory over Spring Hill on Tuesday afternoon at Murray Field.
The Lady Choctaws (15-12, 12-8 GSC) were scheduled to play a doubleheader, but the second game against the Badgers (14-10) was canceled due to inclement weather.

HOW IT HAPPENED
 - The game was scoreless through the first three innings, but the Lady Choctaws broke through in the 4th with a sacrifice fly from
Gracie Trahan to score
Morgan Bradford.
 - MC opened the game up in the 5th with five runs, starting with a two-run triple by Bradford to score
Jordan LaFosse and
McCall Lee.
 -
Shelby Carlson followed that up with an RBI single that scored Bradford to push the score to 4-0.
 - The big blow of the game came next as
Annemarie Peavy hit her first home run of the season to give MC the 6-0 advantage.
 - The Lady Choctaws extended the lead to 9-0 in the 6th with three more runs, beginning with an RBI double from Lee that scored
Rayne Minor.

Brooke Fagan then drove in Lee with a single and
Mallory Little drove Fagan in with a sacrifice fly for MC's last run of the game.
 - The Badgers got on the board in their half of the 6th with an RBI double from Ashley Ortiz that scored Hannah Fillmore.
KEY STATS
 - The Lady Choctaws put up a season-high 14 hits with six different players having two hits apiece.
 - Bradford and Peavy each had two RBI to go along with two hits, while Bradford and Lee each scored a pair of runs.\

Avery Barnett (7-2) tossed her sixth straight complete game and won her sixth straight decision.
 - The sophomore allowed just three hits and an earned run with three strikeouts over 6.0 innings.
 - Hannah Brenton (7-5) took the loss for the Badgers, allowing 13 hits and three earned runs over 5.1 innings.

 - The Lady Choctaws are scheduled to be back in action on Friday when they host Auburn Montgomery for the opener of a three-game series at 5:00 p.m.
