CLINTON, Miss---The Mississippi College men's soccer team fell to Lee University 1-0 in the Gulf South Conference Tournament quarterfinals on Sunday afternoon (Nov. 7). MC falls to 10-6-1 overall (7-3-1 GSC) on the year. Lee improved to 12-4-1 overall (7-3-1 GSC) on the year.
The match was even early on and looked well on it's way to going into the half scoreless, but Lee struck in the 41st minute as Collin Lewis scored to put Lee up right before the break.
In the first half, MC outshot Lee 4-2 and had a 2-1 advantage in shots on goal.
The Choctaws picked up the pace early in the 2nd half and had the run of play for much of the 2nd 45, but just couldn't find the equalizer.
Lee goalkeeper Sam Keener made several big saves in the 2nd half to keep Lee ahead.
MC's best chance came in the 85th minute when Filippo Bellu got on the end of a corner from
Gonzalo Carrasco, but Keener made the save on Bellu's header to help Lee secure the win.
Overall, MC outshot Lee 13-4 and had a 5-2 advantage in shots on goal. Filippo Bellu led the way for MC with 5 shots and 2 shots on goal.

Noah Wagner both also added 2 shots apiece.
