CLINTON, Miss.---The Mississippi College men's soccer team is the #5 seed in the GSC tournament and will travel to play in the quarterfinals on Sunday afternoon (Nov. 7) at 3:00 pm. The winner of Sunday's quarterfinal will advance to the GSC semifinals to face the winner of the #1 seed Montevallo vs. #8 seed Spring Hill. That semifinal will be Friday (Nov. 12) at Ashton Brosnaham Park in Pensacola, Fla. The GSC tournament championship match is scheduled for Sunday (Nov. 14) and will also be in Pensacola. Auburn-Montgomery is the #2 seed in the tournament and are the top seed in the other side of the bracket.
The Choctaws got the #5 seed after going 7-3-1 in GSC play in the regular season. MC tied for the 3rd best record along with Lee and West Florida, but fell to the 5 seed due to tiebreakers. MC was ranked 11th in Super-Region #2 in the latest NCAA Division II Super-Region Rankings. The top 10 teams in each Super-Region qualify for the NCAA tournament. The winner of the GSC tournament receives an auto-bid into the NCAA tournament.
