CLINTON, Miss.---The Mississippi College women's soccer team dominated Spring Hill 8-0 on Friday afternoon (Oct. 29) as they celebrated Senior Day. MC improved to 11-3 overall (9-2 GSC) on the season while Spring Hill fell to 0-15 overall (0-11 GSC).

Beatrice Currie got things going quickly as she scored in just the 2nd minute on an assist from
Emily McNair to open up the scoring.
Currie then added another goal in the 5th minute on an assist from
Holly Pascoe to double MC's lead.
Currie then finished off her 1st half hat trick with a goal in the 14th minute, once again on an assist from
Holly Pascoe, that put MC up 3-0 early. The 3 goals on the afternoon put Currie at 9 on the season, which leads the team.
Olivie Gelpi added to the offensive explosion in the 32nd minute as she scored on an assist from
Emily McNair to make it a 4-0 MC lead. The 2 assists give McNair 3 on the season.
Gelpi then added her 2nd goal of the 1st half just minutes later in the 35th minute to put MC up 5-0 which is the score that remained until the half.
Ashton Storey picked up her 4th assist of the season on the goal.
It was much of the same in the 2nd half for MC as
Madison Morgan put home a nice pass from
Holly Pascoe in the 48th minute to make it a 6-0 Lady Choctaw lead. The goal was Morgan's 3rd of the season. The 3 assists on the afternoon give Pascoe 7 on the season which leads the team.
Gelpi got her hat trick in the 82nd minute as she beat the Spring Hill goalkeeper in a race to the ball then put the ball in the net to make it 7-0 MC and to put Gelpi at 3 goals on the season.
Freshman
Stella French then scored the first goal of her MC career with a golazo in the 85th minute to put a stamp on the match at 8-0.
Overall, MC outshot Spring Hill 22-5 and had a 15-3 edge in shots on goal. Currie and Gelpi led the way for MC with 4 shots apiece (Gelpi led the way with 4 shots on goal). Pascoe also added 3 shots.
Sara Maleski and
Camila Cevallos combined to make 3 saves as they picked up a combined clean sheet shutout.
Next up, the Lady Choctaws will host West Florida on Sunday afternoon (Oct. 31) at 1:00 pm.
