BIRMINGHAM, Ala. --- Mississippi College Sophomore defender Julia Murdoch has been named GSC women's soccer Defender of the Week for her performances this past weekend as MC picked up wins over Christian Brothers on Friday afternoon (Oct. 22) and Union on Sunday afternoon (Oct. 24).

Murdoch scored the game-winning Golden Goal in the 6th minute of Overtime in MC's 2-1 win over Union on Sunday. She also played a crucial role in MC's 2-0 shutout victory over Christian Brothers on Friday. 

Murdoch tallied 119 minutes on the weekend. MC did not concede a goal while she was on the field.

Murdoch is MC's 1st GSC Player of the Week award winner for women's soccer this season.

The Lady Choctaws will be back in action this weekend as they host Spring Hill on Friday afternoon (Oct. 29) and West Florida on Sunday afternoon (Oct. 31). Both matches are scheduled for 1:00 pm.
